The National Emergency Coordination Group (NECG) met again this morning (Monday, 12th December) to assess the national and local picture during the ongoing cold weather this week.

Clare County Council is urging members of the public to be vigilant and prepare for severe weather conditions following a meeting of the National Emergency Coordination Group (NECG) this morning (Sunday, 11th December).

Clare County Council today (Friday, 9th December 2022) announced that it cannot proceed with the proposed takeover of the Clare Assets of Shannon Heritage at this time without real and meaningful support from Government. However, the Chief Executive of Clare County Council says the Local Authority remains open to further engagement on the future management and development of Shannon Heritage assets in County Clare.

Hospitality providers across County Clare, including bar, restaurant, café and hotel owners, are being invited to help make Clare a safer destination in which to socialise by committing to the ‘Ask For Angela’ code-word campaign.

Clare County Council’s Healthy Clare and Greener Clare teams have joined forces to deliver a five-week ‘Healthy and Greener Christmas and New Year’ campaign. The campaign will launch on Monday, 12th December, 2022, and will continue until Sunday, 15th January, 2023.

Shannon Municipal District has introduced a new piece of inclusive playground equipment, the Ability Swing, to its existing playground at Tír na nÓg in Shannon town. 

Three outdoor recreation projects in County Clare are set to benefit from €768,204 in funding under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS).
