Flowing….a legacy from stitch to shoreline - Exhibition by Aislish Malone
Clare Arts Office in conjunction with Cultúrlann Sweeney Library Gallery is delighted to present “Flowing….a legacy from stitch to shoreline” an art exhibition by Aislish Malone.
Aislish Malone is a visual artist and designer from County Clare. Her work is deeply inspired by the River Shannon, the Atlantic coastline and the strength and resilience she draws from these fluid landscapes. Her art has been shaped by her father’s work as a fisherman and her mother’s love of sewing and knitting expressed though colour and vibrant textiles – a heritage that continues to flow through each painting and silk panel she creates.
In this solo exhibition “Flowing….a legacy from stitch to shoreline” she reflects on years of exploring the meeting points between land, sea and sky. Using layered acrylics, inks, glazes, and found objects, Ailish moves between realism and abstraction to evoke the energy and emotion of the coast.
An all-season sea swimmer and coastal wanderer, she finds inspiration in the ever-changing elements of this landscape. Through her art practice, Ailish invites viewers to reconnect with the same sense of wonder and freedom she feels when immersed in the natural world.
Opening Night 11th July 6-8pm
