Scariff exhibition marks World Mental Health Day
An exhibition marking World Mental Health Day will be launched at Scariff Library Gallery on Wednesday, 10 October.
“A Mindful of Mandalas” is a collaborative crochet art project which highlights the positive effects crochet and community groups can have on personal mental health and wellbeing.
Crocheters from around Ireland have contributed to this exhibition, sharing their skills and thoughts on what the art of crochet means to them.
The exhibition has been organised by A Circle of Stitches, a stitch group who meet weekly in Scariff Library, County Clare, to help show that colour, repetition, creating and completing something can contribute to a feeling of wellbeing, and that community groups can combat loneliness and offer a chance to share skills and to connect to others, enhancing quality of life.
The exhibition runs from 10-27 October. This is a free event and open to all members of the public.
