Tulla artist exhibits new work in Scariff
Tulla-based artist Henry Butler will host a new exhibition of works at Scariff Library from 3-24 November.
The Limerick School of Art & Design graduate’s visual art exhibition is his first exhibition of work since returning to painting this summer after 25 years away from the easel.
The show, entitled “Awakened”, also represents his first foray with acrylics having only ever worked with watercolours in the past. He describes his return to painting as being like a volcano that has been dormant for decades but is now suddenly active again. Butler’s work is varied, having a liking for seascapes and wildlife art but he is willing to tackle various subject matters.
The father of three young girls works as a retail manager in Ennis and is also currently studying for a Certificate in Business in Management and Leadership in A.I.T through its Department of Lifelong Learning.
“Awakened runs from 3-24 November at Scariff Library and admission is free.
