Community Support Fund 2022
Under the Community Enhancement Programme, Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, and Minister of State with responsibility for Community Development and Charities, Joe O’Brien TD, announced a new €10 million fund to support thousands of local community & voluntary groups with their energy bills.
The funding programme is managed by the Clare Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) on behalf of the Department of Rural and Community Development.
The funding is targeted towards enhancing community facilities for individuals and communities that are impacted by disadvantage as identified in Clare's Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP ). Classification of affluent and disadvantaged areas are based on Pobal HP deprivation scores which can be viewed through Pobal Maps - Deprivation.
Community Support Fund and the Community Support Fund for Women's Shed's is now closed for 2023
The Community Support Fund supports groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas with their non-pay running costs for example utility bills (electricity costs, refuse charges, heating charges) or other non-pay operating costs for example rental/lease costs, insurance bills.
Groups will also be able to use the funding to carry out necessary repairs and improvements to their facilities and/ or purchase equipment. Clare LCDC has been awarded €301,325.00.
Funding of €147,649.00 is available towards operating costs for community and voluntary groups. Funding of €150,663.00 is available towards capital projects up to a maximum of €10,000.00 per group. €3,013.00 has been ring fenced for Women’s sheds.
Energy / operating costs incurred for both schemes in the period 1st April to 31st March 2023 are eligible.
Any not for profit community or voluntary group can apply.
