Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2025
The Town and Village Renewal Scheme is an initiative under the Government’s Action Plan for Rural Development and is part of a range of measures to support the revitalisation of rural Ireland under the Government’s Project Ireland 2040 Rural Regeneration Programme. The Scheme is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and administered by the Rural & Community Development Directorate in Clare County Council.
This scheme is closed for 2025
The central aim of the Town and Village Renewal Scheme is to support the revitalisation of towns and villages, to improve the living and working environment of the local community, and increase the potential of towns and villages to support increased economic activity into the future.
The Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2026 will be launched in Q3/Q4 of 2026.
Projects funded under the TVR 2025 Scheme
Main Scheme
- Refurbishment and extension of a 1940's community hall into a modern, accessible theatre, arts venue and market space with a new stage, dressing rooms and upgraded toilet and storage facilities in Mountshannon. Funding €500,000
- Redevelopment of a prominent derelict building in Scariff into a permanent, inclusive youth centre, offering a creative, social and skills-based space for geographically disadvantaged young people. Funding €274,480
Project Development Measure
- Detailed design work for the expansion of the Design Bank creative space in Miltown Malbay (formerly Bank of Ireland) Funding €50,000
