Storm Eowyn community support and resources

Clare County Council is coordinating a local level response to the needs of people who have been significantly impacted by Storm Éowyn.

A Storm Éowyn Community Helpline has been set up.

Helpline Number: (065) 6846386 (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.)

Community Response Hubs have been established across County Clare providing people with facilities for personal hygiene and power sources. These hubs will also be a source of information and supports as required, with Clare County Council having a staff presence at each of the locations between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., including weekends.

  • Community Centre Ennistymon (V95X8XC) – Open 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Kilrush Golf Club (V15W025) – Open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 
  • Lough Graney Community Centre, Flagmount/Killanena (V94 YT52) – Open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00. p.m.
  • Cnoc na Gaoithe, Tulla (V95 Y5N5) – Open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00. p.m. 
  • Doolin Hotel (V95DE2X) - Open all day Tuesday 28th January to Thursday 30th January 
  • Imperial Hotel, Lisdoonvarna (V95HF5X) - Open all day Friday 31st January to Tuesday 4th February

Other satellite centres provided through local Community Centres and local GAA Clubs with further satellite centres being considered for other communities.

Water

By 12 noon, Tuesday January 28, a temporary water supply will be provided by Uisce Éireann at the following locations:

Humanitarian Assistance Scheme

The Humanitarian Assistance Scheme is available to provide support to those living in properties directly affected by Storm Éowyn.

The Scheme mitigates hardship by providing income tested financial assistance schemes to households affected by a severe weather event.
