Expressions of interest sought to boost housing provision in Clare
Clare County Council is inviting ‘Expressions of Interest’ from landowners, developers, building contractors, property owners for properties and land in areas of housing demand across County Clare.
A number of expressions of interest which may yield social housing units have already been received since the Local Authority made an initial call for expressions of interest in 2017.
Submissions are being sought in relation to lands (serviced and unserviced), sites with or without planning permission, partially completed developments and/or turn key developments in County Clare.
Clare County Council says it is seeking to identify lands zoned for residential development that would be suitable for residential development, lands with planning permission for residential development, residential schemes completed or partially completed and mixed development schemes where social residential development could augment the development, as well as turn key developments.
Submission instructions are available at https://www.clarecoco.ie/housing/news/expression-of-interest-housing-provision.html.
Meanwhile, Clare County Council is also inviting residential property owners to sell or lease their properties to the Local Authority under the Buy and Renew Scheme.
The Council is looking to buy or lease houses and apartments in areas of housing need. Any property will be considered provided it meets or can meet the minimum standards for rental properties and where there is a housing need.
Landlords who are interested in selling or leasing their properties can request a proposal form by calling into the Housing Department at New Road, Ennis, emailing leasing@clarecoco.ie / acquisitions@clarecoco.ie or calling the Housing section of Clare County Council on 065 6821616. Further details are available from https://www.clarecoco.ie/housing/social-leasing.
