These initiatives are supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media under the Community Strand of the Decade of Centenaries Programme.

Decade of Centenaries Project Awards 2021

Applications are encouraged from community, historical and commemorative and tidy towns groups who wish to commemorate events which happened in Clare during 1921.  The aim of this commemorative funding is to ensure that events are remembered at community level in a respectful, measured and non-partisan manner.  The terms of the scheme are based on the guidance of the Expert Advisory Group on Centenary Commemorations. ;

We envisage that awards of €500-€2,000 will be granted per project.

Please note that the following activities are not eligible for funding:

  • Provision or maintenance of memorials, plaques, busts or statues
  • Hiring or purchase of replica weapons or uniforms
  • Production of commemorative medals or pins

Decade of Centenaries Arts Project Awards 2021

Applications are now sought from artists of all disciplines who wish to commemorate events which happened in Clare in 1921 or explore events / developments which happened in the wider context of Irish society in 1921, in a respectful, measured and non-partisan manner.

3 awards of €4,500 will be granted.

Closing date for all applications is Friday 5th February 2021 at 12:00 noon. Late applications will not be considered.
