The Draft Clare County Biodiversity Action Plan 2025-2031 provides a framework for biodiversity action over the next six years with the aim of halting biodiversity loss in County Clare.
The draft plan is the 4th Clare County Biodiversity Action Plan which will guide the implementation of priority biodiversity actions over the next 6 years to support and facilitate biodiversity conservation, restoration and enhancement to the benefit of all. Consultation on the draft plan is from 25th of July to 25th of August 2025 inclusive.
A copy of the Draft Clare County Biodiversity Action Plan 2025-2031 is available to view in the documents below and also online at https://yoursay.clarecoco.ie/draft-clare-county-biodiversity-action-plan-2025-2031 from the 25th of July to 25th of August 2025 inclusive. A copy of the Draft Plan is available for public inspection at the following locations during normal working hours from the 25th of July to 25th of August 2025 inclusive:
- Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis
- Shannon Municipal District Office, Town Hall, Shannon
- West Clare Municipal District Office, Town Hall, The Square, Kilrush
- Ennistymon Area Office, Ennis Road, Ennistymon
- Killaloe Municipal District Office, Mountshannon Road, Scarriff and
- At all public libraries in County Clare during opening hours.
Public Consultation
Submissions/observations in relation to the Draft Clare County Biodiversity Action Plan 2025-2031, including the Screening Reports for Strategic Environmental Assessment and Appropriate Assessment should be made between the 25th of July and 25th of August 2025.
A submission/observation can be submitted by one of the following methods:

All submissions should include your name and address, and where relevant, details of any organisation, community group or company etc., which you represent.
Note: As this is a public consultation process, submissions may be made available for public viewing and consequently personal details such as address, email address, and phone number should be submitted on a separate sheet accompanying the submission or observation.
We would welcome your observations / submissions on the Draft Clare County Biodiversity Action Plan 2025-2031.
The deadline for submissions/observations is Monday, 25th August 2025.
