Loophead Lighthouse Visitor Experience
The Clare Tourism Department are currently leading on a capital project liaising with an appointed design team to enhance the visitor offering at this location. There will be a holistic approach to this development which will focus on applying for permission for the
- Visitor Experience development within the compound
- Loophead Looped Trail
- Wastewater upgrade and
- Park and Ride Facilities
Inis Cealtra (Holy Island)
To design and provide an offering of a visitor centre and visitor trails and interpretation strategy for the Island in East Clare. The development of this landmark tourism project in East Clare has taken a significant step forward with the announcement of plans for a proposed new Inis Cealtra (Holy Island) visitor centre in the heart of Mountshannon village.
Vandeleur Walled Gardens
Enhancement and continued development of the Bistro and Gardens at this site to incorporate an interpretation centre and restoration of this historic building set within the Coillte forest grounds in Kilrush. This is project managed on a cross-directorate basis by Ruth Hurley (Rural Development).
Ennistymon Streetscape
This project is part of the Fáilte Ireland ‘Tourism Destination Towns’ capital fund. This is project managed on a cross-directorate basis by PJ Carmody (West Clare MD).
Continued working with Fáilte Ireland on strategic projects to include Visitor Experience Development Plan and Destination Experience Development Plan within the County.
