Economic development directorate
The Economic Development Directorate of Clare County Council is responsible for the broad economic development of County Clare. The directorate delivers the planning, economic development, local enterprise office and related support services of the Council across County Clare. The directorate is also responsible for the Ennis Municipal District.
Our Vision
Facilitate a proactive economic environment where businesses locate and grow and create sustainable employment supporting our communities, thus enhancing the economic value of County Clare.
Strategic direction of the Economic Development Directorate
The overall approach of the directorate will be to underpin implementation of the local, regional and national policy framework in each of the sectional areas operating under the umbrella of the Directorate. The team will deliver actions that will be measurable, practical and achievable. These actions will have a real and positive impact on the current socio-economic conditions in the County whilst also focusing on future development and planning requirements to enable a growing population across the County. Delivering property solutions and value for money will also be a critical objective in the work plan underpinned by a willingness to use innovation and information technology to gain maximum impact from the Council's resources.
