Climate action
Climate change is one of the defining political, economic, technical and social challenges of our time. Clare County Council has been taking a proactive approach to climate action and environmental sustainability for some time and we are working to further reduce Clare County Council’s greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption.
The Climate Action Department is responsible for the development and implementation of County Clare’s Local Authority Climate Action Plan. We also support communities to take climate action through the Community Climate Action Fund. Set against the backdrop of an evolving and more rigorous framework of national climate policy, Clare County Council maintains a strong commitment to pursuing a leadership role on climate action.
