Shannon Municipal District (MD), Clare County Council, in conjunction with elected members from Shannon Town and community groups, is delighted to support a new grassland management initiative. This pilot initiative will enhance biodiversity in Shannon Town and will include the introduction of five new pollinator sites.
Clare County Council will host a Covid-19 Ceremony of Remembrance and Reflection at Áras Contae an Chláir on Sunday, 20th March, at 3:00pm. The ceremony has been organised in collaboration with the HSE and An Garda Síochána.

Clare County Council have received approval to proceed with construction works, including additional funding support of €250,819 at Vandeleur Walled Gardens Kilrush from the Department of Rural & Community Development bringing the overall Department funding to €1,975,819. The project is funded by the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund, Project Ireland 2040 under the Department of Rural and Community Development with match funding by Clare County Council. The news came following Clare County Councils application to proceed with the scope of works tendered and a request for additional funding to address accessibility and other ancillary costs within the existing Centre.
Clare County Council today launched a new initiative in partnership with Irish technology company, Abodoo, aimed at mapping the talent and skills of those living and working in Clare. The aim of the project is to develop ongoing live skills mapping for the county, align with Clare’s growing international business profile and showcase the broad talent Clare has to offer. The work will leverage Abodoo’s AI skills data information technology in order to identify the skills that exist within Clare and thus enable greater inward investment in the County.
