The Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council, Cllr PJ Ryan, and the Mayor of Ennis Municipal District, Cllr Ann Norton, have welcomed the news that Ennis has been named Ireland’s Tidiest Town 2021 and commended all those involved in achieving the prestigious accolade. The Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council, Cllr PJ Ryan, has unveiled a monument at the Memorial Peace Park in Ennis to mark the centenary of the foundation of Soroptimist International.
In preparation for the development of a Local Area Plan for Ennis, Clare County Council is engaging with the wider community as part of the Ennis Mobility Plan, which will examine all modes of transport for the sustainable movement of people within Ennis and its environs. Ennis in County Clare has been launched as an Age Friendly Town at an event held in the garden of the Old Ground Hotel on Friday, 27th August, 2021. Properties adjoining the Ennis public realm works on Parnell Street, the Laneways and Bow-ways are eligible to apply for a grant under this scheme.
Ennis Municipal District Councillors today agreed to allocate a further €8,000 from their general municipal allocation (GMA) towards the painting, gutter cleaning and repair scheme, to properties which connect to the Ennis public realm works on Parnell Street. Ennis Municipal District, Clare County Council, is delighted to welcome locals and visitors back into Ennis for business and for pleasure. Clare County Council has been allocated €4,042,793 towards the Ennis Town Centre Public Realm Regeneration Project which will lead to a rejuvenation of key Town Centre streetscapes.
