the Clare Older Volunteer of the Year Award 2020

Clare Older People’s Council supported by Clare County Council will be hosting the Clare Older Volunteer of the Year Award 2020 which will be broadcast live on the Council’s YouTube channel on Tuesday the 17th of November at 11am. The award ceremony will acknowledge the great community efforts by our older Volunteers this year. It will be opened by Mayor of Clare, Mary Howard and CEO Pat Dowling will announce the winner at the end. The ceremony will also include guest speaker Dr. Harry Barry who will talk about the importance of resilience and maintaining a positive mental wellbeing as we age.

From a Distance Concerts Series for Cultural Companion

5 Virtual Concerts, 5 Genres over 5 Sundays; the "From a Distance Concert Series for Cultural Companions" is being streamed live from the Ennis Cathedral from 3pm - 4pm.

Notice: Resurfacing works on the R473

Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays due to resurfacing works on the R473 at Ballynacally on the Ennis to Kildysert road from Friday, 13th November, until Thursday, 19th November.

Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays due to resurfacing works on the R474 at Shanavogh East on the Ennis to Miltown Malbay road until Thursday, 12th November.

The Draft Register of Electors for 2021/2022 has now been published and can be inspected at Post Offices, Garda Stations, Offices of the Local Authority, and the Franchise Office, Council Headquarters and on the web at www.clarecoco.ie  and www.checktheregister.ie

Active Ennis open and operational under Level 3 guidelines

Active Ennis Leisure Complex would like to advise members of the public that it is open and operational under Level 3 guidelines.

Cloister/GAA car park opening hours

Clare County Council is pleased to announce that the Cloister/GAA car park in Ennis will be open from 8:00am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday, on a temporary basis.

Notice of variation to the basic rate of Local Property Tax

In pursuance of the provisions of section 20 of the Finance (Local Property Tax) Act 2012 (as amended) at a meeting of Clare County Council on 21st September 2020 a resolution was passed to the effect that the basic rate of Local Property Tax should stand varied upwards by 15 per cent for the year 2021 in respect of relevant residential properties situated in the local authority’s administrative area.
