The historic lighthouse keeper's cottages at Loop Head are set to undergo renovation works as part of an overall project plan for the sustainable development of the popular West Clare visitor attraction. It has been a long-term objective of Clare County Council to create a world-class Greenway along the route of the old West Clare Railway “from Ennis as far as Kilkee” that, crucially, connects with all of the towns and villages along the way. Clare County Council officials and project stakeholders recently attended a socially distanced site visit to Vandeleur Walled Garden in advance of the enabling works getting underway for the restoration and renovation of the old stable block.
