To celebrate Summer Stars, the annual children’s reading programme, this summer the Clare County Library service will present a series of online tales from one of Ireland’s finest and most-loved performers, Niall de Búrca.
Clare County Council in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland has established a Clare Tourism Recovery Taskforce to guide the reactivation of Clare as a tourism destination in a tactical response to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark is one of 11 international destinations featured on a new European website that celebrates and promotes geotourism.
Clare County Council and Guerin & Considine Ltd have signed a €331,500 ex VAT contract for works on the Cliffs of Moher coastal walk. This tourism project is based on the cooperation between seven local landowners and Clare County Council/Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience, which is funding the project.
Clare County Council, in conjunction with Tipperary County Council, has commenced the preparation of a Town Enhancement, Tourism and Mobility Plan for Killaloe-Ballina.
A 20-year strategy to guide future upgrades at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience is currently in development, with all works to be dependent on the availability of funding.
The innovative work carried out by the staff of Clare County Council during the Covid-19 crisis will be highlighted on #YourCouncilDay, which takes place on Wednesday, 1st July.
Councillor Mary Howard (Fine Gael) has been elected Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council during the annual general meeting of the Council on Monday, 29th June, 2020.
Cllr Pat McMahon was elected Cathaoirleach of Shannon Municipal District at its AGM on 30th June, 2020.
