Children bring 3D Tetris to Clare Museum
A piece of artwork created by pupils of Gaelscoil Mhícil Chíosog in Ennis will be placed on display at Clare Museum from Monday next (4 September 2018).
3D Tetris is a sculpture comprising 30 individual cuboids containing fragmented images of the children and the work can be re arranged into a variety of compositions similar to a game of building blocks. 3D Tetris can be viewed from 4–29 September.
The art project has been undertaken as part of a new ‘Encountering the Arts Ireland and Clare Education Initiative’ called “Artist /Teacher Partnerships” in which artist David O Rourke and teacher Ciara Ni Chuílinn participated.
David is a graduate of NCAD, Dublin and has exhibited nationally and internationally. He has been involved in arts and education for the last ten years. An exhibition of his work ‘”Ireland Character and Culture” is concurrently on show in Cafe on the Green, Lifford.
