Clare County Development Plan 2017-2023: Chief Executive's Report To Elected Members on Progress achieved in securing objectives of Development Plan

The Clare County Development Plan 2017-2023 (CDP) was made on December 19th 2016 came into effect on the 25th January 2017 and consists written statements and settlement plans for all the settlements within the County with the exception of Shannon, which has its own Shannon and Environs Local Area Plan 2012-2018 (the making of a new plan deferred to 2023) as required by legislation.
Section 15(1) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) states that ‘it shall be the duty of the Planning Authority to take such steps within its powers as may be necessary for securing the objectives of the Development Plan’. Section 15(2) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) states that ‘the manager of a planning authority shall, not more than 2 years after the making of a development plan, give a report to the members of the authority on the progress achieved in securing the objectives referred to in
subsection (1)’.
This progress report, submitted to the Elected Members, on the 18th December 2018 complies with the requirements of section 15(2) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended). This is a report on the progress achieved in securing the objectives set out in the County Development Plan.
