Launch of Clare Local Authorities' Social Inclusion and Accessibility Strategy 2011 - 2014
Clare Local Authorities' Social Inclusion and Accessibility Strategy 2011-2014 was launched on Monday, 5th December 2011 by Cllr. Pat Hayes, Mayor of Clare. At the launch the County Manager acknowledged the work already being done with regard to social inclusion and accessibility in the council's areas such as housing, library, arts and the work of the CDB and SIM. The strategy covers Clare County Council and its Town Councils in Ennis, Kilrush, Shannon and Kilkee.
It is concerned with planning and delivering services in the awareness that many of our fellow citizens face particular challenges, compared to others, in participating and interacting with our services. This strategy has been compiled by staff and is guided by one of the key objectives of the Corporate Plan 2010-2014, viz: “to promote social inclusion and participation of all communities and to combat marginalization".
