Blue Flag and Green Coast awards
County Clare's beaches were awarded nine Blue Flags in 2022. The award represents high standards in water quality, environment information and education, environmental management and safety services and facilities. To gain a Blue flag, beaches have to meet twenty three imperative and four guideline beach criteria. Marinas must meet nineteen imperative and four guideline criteria.
